Valerie O’Connor has 20+ years of hands-on marketing strategy and implementation experience, including strategy development and execution within the realm of management consulting. Her areas of concentration are program management, marketing research, marketing analysis, marketing management, CRM, and direct marketing. Other areas of expertise include: channel development, database marketing, process improvement, integrated marketing, account management, segmentation, and customer insight. Within the corporate arena, she has worked with sales channels and operations, middle and senior management, and suppliers.
With more than ten years in the management consulting industry, Valerie has worked with clients such as: American Management Association, Pitney Bowes, 3M, Lexmark, DuPont, Cisco, and Alcatel-Lucent. She has usually operated in the role of Senior Program Manager and/or Subject Matter Expert on customer insight.
Another area that Valerie has been involved in throughout her career is marketing database development and usage including the identification of user requirements, database development, and customer contact management for optimal results.
Before engaging in management consulting, Valerie worked in telecommunications as a marketing manager and developed key consumer and business customer segments to become the largest revenue-producing segments in the marketplace. Valerie also continues to work in the direct marketing industry targeting insurers and other firms with offerings for the 50+ market.
Valerie has a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a graduate of the Database Marketing Institute and was formerly co-owner of a direct marketing list services company. She has also served as President of the American Marketing Association, Milwaukee chapter.
